Introductions

You say life, I say despair.

I love writing. The innumerable ways we as a species are able to communicate ideas, thoughts, and feelings through simple symbols (26 in this case) is simply fascinating.

Needless to say, when the opportunity presented itself for me to have a chance to write for this organization, The First Hope, I felt amazing.

I suppose I should begin by explain what exactly The First Hope and Killing This Addiction Is Killing Me are all about. To start small, I'll examine the latter. A few select volunteers have the opportunity to post various articles, poems, or simple messages that coincide with the message of our group. I am one of these volunteers.

Our group, The First Hope, can best be set to resemble groups like To Write Love On Her Arms, which is my favorite organization outside of this one. We seek to offer support to those suffering from any form of self-harm, verbal, physical, or psychological.

We are not professionals. Most of us are like you. Some of us have recovered from eating disorders, addictive self-mutilation, or suicidal thoughts. Some of us are simply caring friends to you and others, who simply want to show the world that we are here for you.

Do not think of this group as an alternative to any kind of medical help. Certainly, talking about your feelings is an excellent start, but any road to recovery also includes working to solve your problems - something that may require professional psychological assistance or medicinal supplements.

But these things are you for to decide. You know yourself far better than I ever could. I welcome you all, and I encourage you to spread the word about this blog and this organization.

You can now follow us on Facebook by searching "The First Hope - Reachout Organization" and becoming a "follower" of this blog to keep updated.

Try to check back often. I will try posting at least once a day.

Also, feel free to comment, to share your feelings, to tell your story. We are all friends here, we also can all be annonymous.

There will be NO claring of others. No mockery, no jokes, no abusive language, no outside links unless approved. Control your language. Be encouraging.

Again, thank you all, and if you have any questions, please feel free to comment and ask.
